I was referred by a friend and I'm really glad I listened. The team handled a full basement cleanout; decades of old stuff, heavy appliances, you name it. They worked for hours without complaint. One of the guys found an old metal shelving unit I wanted to keep and set it aside without being asked. Small thing but showed they were paying attention. Five stars no hesitation. Empire Demolition and Hauling is the only call I'm making for this kind of work going forward.Posted on Google![]()

We run a property management company so we use hauling services a lot. Empire is now our go-to. They're reliable, fast, and actually answer their phone which is rare these days. Bonus: they never leave a mess behind.Posted on Google![]()

Okay so I don't usually write reviews but seriously, this service was a lifesaver. My husband and I were overwhelmed with clearing out his dad's old house, full of junk, old furniture, the works. Empire came in and made it disappear. Thank you thank you thank you.Posted on Google![]()

Empire Demolition and Hauling was available to pickup and remove a bunch of junk from our garage. They arrived on-time; worked quickly; loaded the junk into a truck and even helped clean up afterwards. Plus, the price quoted was quite reasonable too. They definitely will be recommended to my family and friends. Thanks for your hardwork guys!Posted on Google![]()

We hired Empire to tear down an old garage that had been falling apart for years. From the first call, they were super helpful and gave us a fair quote. Showed up on time, worked fast, and left the site spotless. Honestly didn't expect it to be that easy. Highly recommend!Posted on Google![]()

These guys are the real deal. We needed some concrete busted up and removed from our backyard, and they handled it no problem. The crew was friendly, professional, and honestly? Way cheaper than the other companies we called. Win win.
Empire Demolition and Hauling is a demolition contractor based in Sacramento, serving property owners throughout North Highlands and the surrounding Sacramento metro. Our crews handle residential and commercial demolition, excavation, land clearing, debris hauling and site preparation.
North Highlands is one of the older communities north of Sacramento. It showed up in the census back in 1960 and has grown to roughly 49,000 people. Like Foothill Farms next door, it’s unincorporated, so Sacramento County handles the permits here, not a city.
The area has a real mix. Residential streets fill most of it, but there’s commercial and industrial land too, especially around the former McClellan Air Force Base. The base closed through the federal base closure process in the 1990s and now runs as McClellan Business Park.

On the commercial side, we can handle selective demo, where only part of a building comes out, or a full teardown down to a clean, graded pad.
We’ve been doing demolition and site work across the Sacramento region for more than 30 years. Every job runs with our own crew and our own equipment. We don’t sub anything out, so the people who walk your property are the people who do the work.
We’re licensed and insured. We get utilities marked before digging, keep dust down with water, and protect anything that’s staying. On commercial jobs we plan truck routes and staging before day one, so there’s no guessing once the machines show up.

We cover all of North Highlands in ZIP code 95660, including:
We also work in the communities that border it, like Foothill Farms, Antelope and Rio Linda. From Sacramento, it’s a quick drive up Watt Avenue for our trucks and equipment. You can find Empire Demolition and Hauling on Google Maps and see more of our reviews there.
North Highlands is unincorporated, so demolition permits go through Sacramento County, not the City of Sacramento.
The Sac Metro Air District requires an asbestos survey and 10 days' notice before demolishing commercial and larger buildings. Most single family homes are exempt.
Structures from earlier decades can hide surprises like old slabs, buried footings or abandoned lines. We plan for them.
Power, gas and water need to be shut off before anything comes down.
Both roads stay busy. We schedule hauling to dodge the heaviest hours when we can.
Check the latest permit steps on the Sacramento County Building Permits and Inspection page. If it’s confusing, just ask. We’ll walk you through it.

Do you work in ZIP code 95660?
AYes, all of it, plus Foothill Farms, Antelope and Rio Linda nearby.

AYes. We can break out slabs and footings and haul it all away.
Can you grade the lot after demo?
AYes. We grade in house, so the lot’s ready for whatever’s next.
North Highlands keeps changing, from the neighborhoods off Watt Avenue to the reused buildings at McClellan. We like being part of that.
